Wedderburn Today

Wedderburn is a sleepy farming Hamlet (Pop 900) approximately 225Km NW of Melbourne on the Calder Highway. With a rich Goldfields history Wedderburn is part of Victoria's "Golden Triangle". Gold is still found here. The locals grow Wheat, Canola and Baa-Lambs. It is the Antithesis of St. Kilda and the Melbourne CBD but has its own charm. Here I will attempt to post (hopefully) frequent portraits of daily life in Wedderburn.

Clear Blue Sky

An Autumn chill in the mornings and evenings now, although daytime temperatures are still in the 30s and no sign of badly needed rain.

I may be wrong, but, from the angle of the sun and the spike on the roof, this must be the front of the old Band Hall on High Street/Calder Highway, and opposite the Wedderburn Express site, (if that building is still standing)

Wow,

Not quite, but on the same heading! It's actually the front of Lance Ward's house in Wilson St. which runs parallel to the Calder.

Not sure about the Wedderburn Express... I've only been here a year or so, but will find out.

Obviously you lived here for a while?

Cheers, Phil
